Based in the beautiful Norfolk Countryside, Scorpion Airsoft are an ex-military team capable of ensuring you complete the required 5 days and 4 nights away from home.


The course is packed full of interesting activities, it’s fast paced and will certainly keep you on your toes. Working alongside fellow participants you will gather the necessary skills required to achieve the end goal and successfully complete the mission. 


Our team of ex-military and Emergency Services have designed an itinerary, packed full of challenging scenarios. Each day is different and perfectly balanced so you gain new skills and challenge yourself. You are certain to make new friends along the way too!


With all challenging events there is always a requirement to have fun and our indoor games night is legendary added to that our end of course beach games and BBQ at Wells Next the Sea is one of the many highlights of the week.

  • Itinerary and Frequently asked questions

    The week is packed full of interesting activities. Our team of ex-military and serving Firefighters have designed an itinerary, packed full of challenging scenarios. Each day is different and perfectly balanced so you gain new skills and challenge yourself. You are certain to make new friends along the way too. 


    During your first evening with us, you will take part in the thrilling Escape and Evasion exercise, with your cover story memorised you and your team must use your map to gather your escape kit and make it to the extraction point, all whilst avoiding our hunter team. 


    The 2nd day starts with a very small introduction to a Military Battle Physical Training session, and a teambuilding log run with a twist, the team who stick together and support each other win!  No one gets left behind!


    It is time to don your Airsoft equipment, and with advice from our ex-military team learn some Close quarter Battle Drills (CQB) in our WW2 RAF Hospital. After a spot of lunch, put your new skills into action with your first Airsoft Games!


    You will play a vast selection of games throughout the week, examples include, scenarios based hostage rescues to zombie Infection, or you might attempt the Scorpion Airsoft CQB clearance competition. One thing is for sure, all the scenarios will provide individual and team challenges and of course are great fun!


    In the evening, prepare yourselves for the legendary games night, can you win the famous Scorpion Airsoft Indoor Cricket Cup?


    On your 3rd evening, it is time to come together and put all your skills into action and take on our Scorpion Airsoft Members in a scenario-based exercise. 


    The 4th day is a chance to relax and enjoy your final hours of Airsoft with us. Hand back your equipment, and head out to the Beach during the summer or to the Cinema in the winter with your new friends. On our over 18's courses, you might collectively decide to take a trip to the fine city of Norwich for the evening.


    On the final day, It's time to pack your kit, tidy the accommodation, receive your certificate, swap numbers with your friends, and head home! 


    All Activities throughout the course are challenge by Choice. Our team will encourage everyone to push themselves to achieve the most out of their time with us, but no one will ever be forced to participate in any of the activities.

  • Our Residential Accommodation

    The Dunton Centre is a former flint-built village school, which is situated on a rise of land just outside the village of Shereford, in North Norfolk.


    The nearest town is Fakenham which is located approximately 3 miles east of the centre.


    The Dunton Centre is a residential self-catering facility owned by Red House Youth Trust, a charity that supports young people and youth projects in Norfolk. 


    The accommodation (a former school) caters for up to 23 residents with sleeping arrangements made up of dormitories and four double rooms, all with bunk beds. A large lounge / small hall serves as a social area in addition to the open kitchen diner which overlooks the beautiful Norfolk countryside at this isolated location. The facilities are similar to what you would expect from a 2 to 3-star YHA.

  • Catering

    As part of the experience participants will take responsibility for catering arrangements, budgeting, shopping, food preparation and associated domestic arrangements, with a more than sufficient budget being allocated for participants to cater for everyone’s specific needs throughout the programme (meals, snacks, hot and cold soft drinks).


    Your First Meal will be Lunch on Day 1.

    Your Last Meal will be Breakfast on Day 5.

  • Travel Arrangements

    Travelling By Train


    Participants are asked to use Norwich rail station. Participants should aim to arrive at Norwich no later than 1030hrs on the first day of the course. Transport will be provided from Norwich to the Dunton Centre at a mutually arranged time. There are several hotels and B&Bs situated within 5 minutes of Norwich Train Station and Airport for those travelling from further afield. Please do contact us for assistance if required. 


    Travelling by Car 


    The Dunton Centre is located on the outskirts of Fakenham. Participants should aim to arrive at the Dunton Centre no later than 12.00hrs on the first day of the course. Parking is available on-site.

    Norwich Airport, until early 2017 Norwich International Airport, is a minor international airport in the City of Norwich within Norfolk, England 2.8 NM north of the city centre and on the edge of the city’s suburbs in Hellesdon.

  • Equipment and Kit List

    We will provide you with Personal Protective Equipment (Personal Protective Equipment must be worn whilst participating in all airsoft activities. You will be required to bring a pair of sturdy walking boots.


    Airsoft Equipment is included, we will provide

    • Torch
    • High-Quality Face mask,

    • Chest Rig
    • Ear Defenders
    • Combat Trousers and Shirt
    • Combat Jacket provided during the Winter

    You will need to bring:

    • Sturdy Pair of walking boots
    • Trainers (for activities, so they may get dirty!)
    • Socks: extras to wear with walking boots if necessary
    • Regular clothing (for residential centre)
    • Footwear (to be kept clean for travelling and evenings)
    • Underwear sufficient for the week
    • Nightwear
    • Trousers/jeans and or trackies
    • T-shirts x 5
    • Jumper/fleece/hoody
    • Jacket/fleece
    • Hat, scarf and gloves depending on the weather forecast
    • Beach wear… again depending on the weather forecast

  • Price

    The cost of the course is £500 per person, which incorporates:

    • 4 nights accommodation.
    • All meals and drinks (meals, drinks and Snacks)
    • A Tippmann HPA M4 CQB Rifle/Airsoft Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF).

  • How to Book

    This Residential is extremely popular, most weeks run fully booked. It is recommended that you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  Summer courses are usually near capacity by late February.

  • Safety, Insurance and Safeguarding

    All activities are risk assessed and are subject to stringent health and safety systems. 

    Independence16 Ltd T/A Scorpion Airsoft has £5 million indemnity covering the insured activities and other activities as approved. 


    All Independence16 Ltd T/A Scorpion Airsoft staff hold enhanced DBS checks.

  • Health

    Customers participating in courses/activities must expect to be involved in adventurous and sometimes strenuous activities. Although prior experience and/or training is not necessary for all the courses/activities customers are expected to be in good general health. 


    The medical section must be completed as part of the booking process. 


    All prior injuries and/or serious illnesses must be declared. Any injury or illness occurring between the time of the declaration and the commencement of the course must be reported. 


    The customer must satisfy him/herself that taking part in the course is within his/her own capabilities. Independence16 Ltd T/A Scorpion Airsoft reserves the right to refuse a booking on medical grounds if it is considered to be detrimental to the safety and smooth running of the course.


    The participant/parent/guardian (For those under 18) agrees that the applicant has the necessary social skills to take part in a residential with other young people, will always take responsibility for themselves and will have full regard for safety and other instructions given by the staff.

  • Dietary Requirements

    Any special dietary requirements must be made at the time of booking, Independence16 Ltd T\A Scorpion Airsoft cannot accept responsibility for not being able to deliver special dietary needs at short notice.

  • Unruly Behavior

    Behaviour that disrupts the smooth running of an event may result in the disruptive customer(s) being excluded. Any damage caused to property or equipment as a result of unruly behaviour will be charged for.

  • Can I bring my own Airsoft equipment?

    Yes, you can bring your own equipment, however, independence16 Ltd T/A Scorpion Airsoft cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage. All Replica Imitation Firearms RIF'S will be tested to ensure they conform to site regulations. 

  • Do I have to be completing my DofE Award to attend?

    No, as long as you are aged 16 - 25 for our Youth courses you can attend, and for our Adult courses you will need to be 18+, there is no upper age limit for our Adult courses.



  • Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

    No, we provide a Duvet, Pillows and Linen for the week.

  • I am driving to the Dunton Centre, Is there space to leave my car for the duration of the course?

    Yes, there is car parking available. Independence 16 Ltd T/A Scorpion Airsoft cannot be held responsible for any loss or damages.

  • How many people will be on the course?

    Our courses run on a minimum of 9 people and a maximum of 15.

  • I am travelling by train, where should I meet at Norwich Train Station?

    Please meet at the entrance to Norwich Train Station at 10:30. Norwich is a small station with only 1 entrance/exit.

  • Do you need my EDofE Number?

    Yes, we will need your EDofE Number to complete your assessor's report online. There is a space on the consent form for this information.

  • What is the Age Limit?

    Youth Courses 


    The minimum age is 16 years old

    The maximum age is 25 years old


    Adult Courses 


    The minimum age is 18 Years old

    There is no upper age limit for Adult courses, however, participants are expected to be in good general health. If you have any questions regarding your suitability to take part please get in touch.

  • I have exam's coming up and need to revise. Will there be time to do this?

    There is some downtime during the week. Before activities start in the Morning, at Lunchtime and after activities finish in the evenings there is time to revise. 


    You will most probably find others on the course who are completing the same exams and then you may choose to revise together or maybe someone will have already achieved them (or a higher level ) and will be more than happy to pass on their knowledge. 


    Your DofE Assessor will be looking at how you interact with the rest of the group and will expect you to still partake in activities during the evenings.
